September Intimate Wedding

Chapel Hill / Rochester, NY

Small weddings are the norm now, and I have to say, I couldn’t be happier. I get to spend more time with the couple and the family.

Lydia and Ethan’s wedding ceremony was located at Chapel Hill in Rochester. The staff there was fantastic and accommodating, especially with all of the changes in capacity and safety protocols.

After the ceremony, we travelled to Ethan’s parents home in Kendall for portraits. I pulled into the driveway and I was greeted by tall sunflowers, and I immediately knew that they made the perfect choice for their portrait location. I always scout around before we start shooting. As I walked around the back, I found fruit trees and a small vineyard. This couldn’t get any better, oh wait, it does. Then a little further past the fruit trees, a long straight trail with leading lines created by conifer trees and lit with amazing soft light. Yup, this is going to be fun.

We started off with group portraits, which almost brought me to tears with laughter. Such a fun group to work with! Lydia, Ethan and I went exploring the property to finish with our day with portraits of just the two them. Since the reception was a family affair at another location, we simulated their first dance in a grove of tall trees. Did I sing, no, but next time I am bringing my boom box.

Congratulations Lydia and Ethan!
