Comet Neowise from Fair Haven, NY
I left my comfy chair by the fire, and headed up to the beach. There I was greeted by a lovely breeze coming from the North, which was refreshing after a 90 degree day. I found my spot on the rock jetty and set up my camera. After playing around with my 70-200mm, I decided to use my 35mm f1.8 lens. After many test shots, I decided to try a panoramic image, this one is a blend of 3 images stitched effortlessly in Adobe LR.
Camera settings: 10 seconds @ f2.8, ISO 1600 approximately 10pm when captured
I was surprised that there weren’t more people at the beach watching the sunset. It was stunning. Even if I wasn’t successful in getting a shot of the comet, the sunset was worth the trip.
While shooting, several fisherman came to the jetty to fish. It was comforting to have some others out there enjoying the night. As I was leaving, one of them let me know he got a great shot of me shooting the comet. What a great surprise and a very cool portrait of me working.

I may have to go out and do more of these.
