Family and Children’s Portrait FAQs
What should we wear to our session?
Pick clothing that is weather appropriate and comfortable. Bring several layers of clothing that compliment each other, they can help keep you comfortable when the weather changes and they offer subtle changes to your look for more variety of images.
Can we bring our pet or pets to our session?
Absolutely. I do suggest bringing a friend to watch them when they are done with their segment of the session, so we can focus on the rest of the family.
What is the best time for our portrait session?
The best times are in the morning or late afternoon for the best light possible.
What are the best locations for our photo session?
Any location especially if it has meaning for your family. It could be your home, local park where you like to hike, local ski mountain, anywhere really.
We are having a family reunion, can you take group portraits there?
Absolutely. We will need to coordinate the groups before your session so I am adequately prepared for any additional equipment that I will need to bring.
How quickly can we see our pictures?
After your session, I’ll go through and share a couple of teasers within 48hrs. I go through all the images to complete the proofs for you to view. They will be posted in your private online gallery within 10 business days.
How many pictures do you deliver? Can we have all of them?
The number of images I deliver varies, because each session is unique. Most sessions are an average of 30 or more images, there are many factors that contribute to the final number: hours of coverage, number of people in your session, age of children and pets.
What if one of us gets sick?
If one of the family members is sick, let’s reschedule. It’s best to reschedule at least 24hrs before our session.
What if the weather is not looking good?
Heavy rain, strong wind, snowstorms, are all reasons to take cover and reschedule our session. I keep a keen eye on the weather the week before our session to ensure we have the best lighting and conditions for our session. If for any reason that I believe that the weather will not cooperate, I will contact you within 48 hrs of our session to discuss options.
